Which No-Drill Treatment Is Right for You?
Your best option depends on where the lesion is, how advanced it is, whether the surface is cavitated, and your cosmetic goals. Dr. Mahgoub will recommend the right fit at your exam. In general, Curodont is a biomimetic treatment designed to support remineralization of eligible early, non-cavitated enamel lesions before traditional restorative treatment becomes necessary. Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is used to arrest active decay, including certain cavitated lesions, and can be especially useful for young children, older adults, anxious patients, or anyone for whom conventional treatment may be difficult; SDF permanently darkens active decay, so esthetics are an important consideration. ICON Resin Infiltration is a micro-invasive treatment that infiltrates porous enamel with resin and can be used for selected non-cavitated early lesions, including some lesions between teeth, while also improving the appearance of certain white spots on front teeth. White Spot Treatment is a good starting point when your main concern is a visible spot on a tooth, since the best treatment depends on the underlying cause.

Is No-Drill Treatment Right for Every Cavity?

Larger cavities, structurally weakened teeth, decay approaching the nerve, or teeth that need their form and function restored may still require a filling, crown, or root canal. The earlier we identify decay, the more conservative treatment options we usually have. Dr. Mahgoub will recommend a traditional restoration when that is the more predictable way to protect the tooth.
